Your Airedale will grow into a healthy adult by feeding him a top quality dog kibble. He does not require any further additives or variety in his diet. We feed our mature dogs Precise Foundation Formula, and this keeps them in prime condition for showing, breeding and obedience work.  We find it reduces dry skin and does not result in large amounts of stool as other brands do.

 Puppy Feeding Schedule

            Your puppy has been weaned on pureed Holistic Select Chicken Meal by Eagle Pack mixed with goat milk and warm water.  Continue to feed him Holistic Select from 5 weeks to 6 months.

                        * Feed 2 to 3 times a day until 4 months old

1/2-3/4 cup dry kibble softened or lightly blenderized so he can handle meals with his baby teeth.  You may add a small amount of cottage cheese, buttermilk or cooked ground beef. Increase amount according to his weight (See kibble bag for ratios).

                       * Feed twice a day from 4 months to 6 months, then mix with adult kibble in increasing amounts until he is off the puppy chow. He may now be fed once a day if you like.  Your puppy should be eating only adult kibble after 6 months of age.  (Holistic Select Chicken Meal by Eagle Pack, same as above) www.eaglepack.com

 Feeding Tips

             1. Feed at the same times to regulate elimination.

            2. Feed in the same place, e.g.. kitchen or crate.

            3. Feed only his kibble.

            4. Always have fresh drinking water available for him.

            5. Use bowls of stainless steel or other non-toxic material.

            6. Remove leftover food after 15 minutes and feed new chow at next meal.

            7.  Do not bother him/her while he /she is eating.

 A word of caution: Do not make him into a fussy eater, for the sake of his health and your time. By feeding him table scraps, candy or other "human food", you will upset his appetite for his regular ration.  The long term result is usually underweight or obesity, along with a behavior he uses to control you.

 Be aware that refusing to eat may be the only sign your dog gives that he is unwell.

 Treats: hard dog biscuits, rawhide chew sticks, small pieces of raw carrot or apple, or a favorite toy.
